I’m Not Ashamed

If you had the greatest of treasures,
Would you hide it in your shoe for a year or two,
And never show anyone?
If you’d just inherited a fortune,
Would you sit down and cry, lay down and die,
Or go tell everyone?

I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,
It’s the pearl of great price,
And I don’t want to hide it anymore,
That my God has entrusted to me,
It is eternity,
Through believing on His precious Son.

If you had a perfect solution,
Two end hate and greed, plus meet everyone’s need,
Would you turn your back on them?
If you had the key to God’s storehouse,
And could feed all the hungry, comfort the lonely,
Would you hoarded it on them?

I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,
It is the pearl of great price,
And I don’t want to hide it anymore,
That my God has entrusted to me,
It’s eternity,
Through believing on His precious Son.

If I have the chance to tell someone,
About the love that Christ gave and His power to save,
Should I walk away from them?
His command was to tell everyone,
That redemption has come,
Through the blood of God’s Son,
Could I leave them dead in sin?

I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,
It’s the pearl of great price,
And I don’t want to hide it anymore,
That my God has entrusted to me,
It’s eternity,
Through believing on His precious Son.
